DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, June 23. Three solar power plants are being put into operation in the high-altitude Murghob district of the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region of Tajikistan, Trend reports via the country's Ministry of Energy and Water Resources.
During a working visit, Daler Juma, Minister of Energy and Water Resources, inspected the progress of construction at the sites in the villages of Alicur (2.8 MW capacity with a 1.4 MWh battery storage system), Gulzor (450 kW with a 220 kWh battery), and Bulunkul (565 kW with a 360 kWh battery).
The minister conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the
construction trajectory and disseminated explicit directives to
guarantee compliance with temporal benchmarks, uphold superior
quality standards, and leverage cutting-edge technologies and
apparatus.
The photovoltaic installations in Alicur and Gulzor are projected
to achieve operational status by the conclusion of June 2025,
whereas the facility in Bulunkul is slated for finalization by the
end of July.
These initiatives are integral to the “Rural Electrification”
framework, strategically designed to deliver sustainable energy
solutions to underserved and topographically challenging
regions.
Implementing such infrastructure in the challenging climate of high mountain regions contributes to improving living standards, sustainable socio-economic development, and achieving the country’s strategic goal of energy independence.
