ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 14. The enterprises of the food industry of Turkmenistan from January through June of this year noted a noticeable increase in production volumes, Trend reports.
Dovletgeldi Amanmukhammedov, Chairman of Turkmenistan's State Statistics Committee, made this announcement during an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on July 12, 2024.
According to him, during the specified period, enterprises of Turkmenistan processed fish and manufactured canned fish products by 16.5 percent more than the same period in 2023, and dairy products - by 14.1 percent.
Furthermore, Amanmukhammedov noted that the volume of butter manufactured by enterprises is 10.8 percent more than in the first half of last year, confectionery products - by 5.6 percent.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan prioritizes bolstering food security due to its abundant natural resources and advantageous environment.
In recent years, Turkmenistan's government has focused on the food sector, striving to lessen the country's dependence on imports and ensure a sustainable supply of food for its populace.
