TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 28. Uzbekistan exported 30,100 tons of plums worth $24.3 million from January through August 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency indicates that the value of plum exports increased by $4.1 million compared to the same period last year.
The largest volume of Uzbek plums exported from January through August 2024 was to Russia: 19,100 tons, Kazakhstan: 9,400 tons, Kyrgyzstan: 1,400 tons, Belarus: 177 tons, Mongolia: 14 tons, and the UAE: 7 tons.
To note, Uzbekistan exported 1.3 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $922.8 million from January through August 2024. This figure increased by 8.3 percent compared to the same period last year (1.2 million tons from January through August 2023).
Exports of fruit and vegetable products accounted for 5.3 percent of Uzbekistan's total exports.
