TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 9. Uzbekistan launched the Uzex Agro platform to support farmers and dehkan farms (large private farms that belong to legal entities), Trend reports.

This is stated in Decree No. 621 of Uzbekistan's Cabinet of Ministers, aimed at developing a modern agro-complex using advanced exchange mechanisms.

The platform will enable the sale of agricultural products at market prices.

Agro Exchange LLC, established under the Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Uzbekistan, will be responsible for the continuous operation of the platform, technical support, as well as the development of agro-complexes using free land in the regions.

Until January 1, 2025, farmers and dehkan farms will be able to sell their products through the platform without intermediary fees. The new platform is also designed to create favorable conditions for attracting investment in the agricultural sector.

Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that the country will put up the share in 31 elite seed farms and 6 seed procurement shops for public auction.

The head of state emphasized the need to create a competitive environment when importing seeds from abroad and to develop agro-techniques of cotton cultivation.
