TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 17. Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade and Russia’s Ozon marketplace signed a memorandum of cooperation, Trend reports.

The document was signed within the framework of the business program of the Central Asia Retail Week 2024 international forum in Tashkent.

According to the document, the parties agreed to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Uzbekistan through sustainable development of online commerce. Among the priority areas of cooperation is the increase of Uzbekistan's trade turnover with CIS countries, including at the expense of increasing export volumes of domestic manufacturer's products for 51 million Ozon customers in the countries of marketplace presence.

The partnership also provides for educational work to promote the development of entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan in the areas of e-commerce, joint consultations and events, launching information and advertising campaigns, and mutual exchange of experience.

Ozon is a multi-category marketplace with a developed logistics network. Ozon has been actively developing in Uzbekistan since 2023. The company is interested in the development of logistics infrastructure, including warehouse complexes and courier service. It also plans to actively develop a franchise network of branded points of receipt and delivery of orders.
