TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 26. The foreign trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Türkiye hit the ground running, reaching a whopping $2.4 billion from January through October 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency shows that this is 7.6 percent less compared to the same period in 2023, when the trade turnover stood at $2.6 billion.
On this account, Türkiye has climbed the ladder to become one of the top five heavyweights in trade turnover among Uzbekistan's biggest trading partners during this period.
Upon weighing bilateral export-import deliverables, Uzbekistan's exports to Türkiye amounted to $937.4 million, which is 17.3 percent less compared to last year ($1.1 billion from January through October 2023). While Uzbekistan's imports from Türkiye reached $1.4 billion from January through October 2024. This figure decreased by 6.6 percent compared to the same period last year ($1.5 billion from January through October 2023).
To note, the volume of Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $54.3 billion from January through October 2024. This indicator increased by 6.7 percent compared to the same period last year ($50.9 billion from January through October 2023).
