TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 1. The volume of Uzbekistan's prune exports abroad decreased to 19,100 tons from January through October of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency shows that this volume dropped by 64.9 percent compared to the same period last year (31,500 tons), and the value amounted to $26.9 million.
In addition, the export of dried prunes grew in October 2024, reaching 4,200 tons compared to 2,800 tons in September.
To note, from January through October 2024, Uzbekistan exported 1.6 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $1.2 billion. This figure grew by 14.2 percent compared to the same period last year (1.4 million tons).
The export of fruit and vegetable products accounted for 5.5 percent of Uzbekistan's total export volume.
