BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. The electricity production at Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant in Qazvin province, located in northern Iran, increased by 1.25 percent during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Director of the Shahid Rajaee TPP Abolfazl Mutabha said, Trend reports.
According to Mutabha, a total of 6.83 billion kilowatts of electricity was produced at Shahid Rajaee TPP during the six months.
He added that in the mentioned amount, about 3.24 billion kilowatts of electricity were generated in combined cycle units and 3.59 billion kilowatts in steam units.
The official noted that the overall Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant can generate 12 billion kilowatts of electricity per year. This plant provides 3.5 percent of the country's electricity.
The Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant has 13 units. Four of them are steam units with each generation capacity of 250 megawatt-hours, and the rest are combined-cycle units. In total, the TPP can generate 2,040 megawatts of electricity.
