BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 29. The electricity production at Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant in Qazvin province, located in northern Iran, increased by three percent during the seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), Director of the Shahid Rajaee TPP Abolfazl Mutabha said, Trend reports.
Shahid Rajaee TPP produced 7.98 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity over the course of seven months, according to Mutabha.
He added that steam units generated about 4.18 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in the mentioned amount, while combined cycle units generated 3.8 billion kilowatt hours.
The official noted that the Shahid Rejaee thermal power plant can produce 12 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. This plant provides 3.5 percent of the country's electricity.
The Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant has 13 units. Four of them are steam units with a generation capacity of 250 megawatt hours, and the rest are combined cycle units. In total, the TPP can generate 2,040 megawatts of electricity.
