Some 1.5 million tons of petrochemical products were exported through the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in Iran’s Bushehr Province during the third month (May 22 – June 21) of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Ahmad Pourheydar, Director General of the customs department of PSEEZ, told Tasnim News Agency, Trend reports.
According to him, the exported goods were worth $706 million.
Pourheydar added that compared to the second month (April 21 - May 21), exports increased by 23 percent in terms of weight and 2 percent in terms of value.
"The exported goods mostly consisted of ethylene glycol, butane, propane, polystyrene, methanol, cement, carbamide and ammonia," he said.
Pourheydar added that the products were exported to India, Mozambique, South Africa, Uzbekistan, China, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Turkey, Italy and the Gulf countries.
He also said that 9,780 tons of products worth more than $430 million were imported during the third month.
The Director General went on to say that that imports of products decreased by 16 percent in terms of weight and 293 percent in terms of value.
"The imports mainly consisted of the equipment of refineries, gas pipes, towers of gas turbines and various other pieces of equipment," he said.
Pourheydar said that these products were imported from Italy, Germany, China, UAE, Spain and South Korea.
According to Pourheydar, 2,120 tons of goods worth $239 million were transited through the PSEEZ during the third month.
"The products were transited to Indonesia, China, UAE, Germany, Malaysia, Italy, Poland, Austria and Kuwait. The transit increased by 1 percent in terms of weight and 45 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last year," he said.
