BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the western ports of Hormozgan Province, located in the south of Iran, grew by 13 percent during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024), the Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 3.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the mentioned western ports in the three months.
Salari said that 1.78 million tons of non-oil products were loaded and unloaded in the ports located in the west of the province during the above period, which is 10 percent more than in the same period last year.
The official added that 1.9 million tons of cargo were handled by the ports located in the west of the province during the mentioned period, marking a 37 percent year-on-year growth.
As many as 10 ports, with Lengeh, Charak, Siri and Lavan as the most active ones, operate in the western part of Hormozgan Province.
