In January-April 2019, Azerbaijan imported 11,695 vehicles, which is 2.2 times more compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the country's State Customs Committee.
According to the Committee, out of the total number of vehicles imported into the country, 10,614 were cars and motor vehicles. Compared to the same period of 2018, this figure increased 2.2 times.
During the reported period, the country also imported 974 trucks (two times growth), 53 buses and other motor vehicles accommodating ten or more passengers (an increase of 2.3 times over a year), and 54 special-purpose vehicles (2.2 times increase over the year ).
In total terms, the volume of imports of all types of vehicles and spare parts of them amounted to $354.9 million. They accounted for 7.8 percent of total imports of Azerbaijan.
In 2018, 28,876 cars and other motor vehicles were imported.
