Uzbekistan to use satellite data in agriculture

The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Belarusian company OneSoil and Boston Consulting Group signed a joint agreement on the use of satellite data in agriculture of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.

This agreement provides for the implementation of work on the active introduction of digital technologies in agriculture in the framework of the Concept of "Smart Agriculture", an objective mapping of lands and cultures of Uzbekistan through the use of modern technologies.

The project in Uzbekistan will be implemented pilot on the example of one region using satellite images of crop fields in the multispectral range.

In August of this year, seminars will be held aimed at creating an investment portfolio on agricultural diversification and clarifying data on crop growth conditions and developing solutions.

OneSoil is an agrotechnical startup from Belarus that creates applications and an online platform for precision farming. The company's products are based on machine learning algorithms and the analysis of Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 satellite images, which are publicly available.

Boston Consulting Group is an international company, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. It specializes in management consulting, and is among the “big three management consulting”. The company was founded in 1963 and has a global network of more than 90 offices in 50 countries.
