Iran has banned the transit of oil products from the country to neighboring countries by the end of the current Iranian year (starting March 20, 2020), Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
The issue was reflected in a letter from Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri to the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance.
The reason for the decision was not disclosed.
According to report, the transit of gasoline, diesel and similar hydrocarbon products have been banned.
“The decision also applies to existing cargo in Iran's southern ports and customs,” said the letter.
A number of oil products are transited to neighboring countries through Iran's territory.
