DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 29. The industrial production in Tajikistan's Sughd region amounted to 12.8 billion somoni ($1.208 billion) from January through June 2024, which is a 10.1 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the country’s Statistical Agency, the region's share of the national industrial output is 56.9 percent.
During this period, the mining industry in the region accounted for 4 billion somoni ($377.664 million), while the manufacturing sector contributed 7.7 billion somoni ($727 million). Water supply, sewage, and recycling services amounted to 70.4 million somoni ($6.646 million).
Overall, industrial production in the country reached 22.6 billion somoni ($2.133 billion) during the first half of 2024, which is an increase of 2.3 billion somoni ($217.157 million) from the same period last year.
Of the total industrial output, 21.6 percent came from the mining sector, 57.1 percent from manufacturing, 20.6 percent from electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, and 0.7 percent from water supply, sewage, waste management, and recycling.
