DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, April 18. With Tajikistan's Independence Day just around the corner on September 9, 2026, the Matchin district of the Sughd region is buzzing with activity, where a whopping 735 infrastructure projects are in the pipeline, with nearly 75 percent of the work already in the bag, making it a real feather in the cap for the local community, Trend reports via the regional administration.
Sughd region governor Rajabboy Ahmadzoda visited the district to inspect the progress of these projects and issued instructions to expand the ongoing efforts. Among the notable projects is a brick production factory being built by Jafar LLC, which will contribute to the local construction materials market.
In Buston, a modern shopping center called Asia is under construction. The two-story center will house food products on the first floor and household appliances and equipment on the second. Once operational, it will create jobs for over 20 people.
Moreover, a new 4-story central district hospital, funded by the local government, is under construction. The hospital will feature 250 beds and modern medical equipment.
In education, a new building is being added to School No. 14 in Buston, which will accommodate 1,000 students in two shifts. Plans for the city’s future include hotels, shopping centers, and restaurants.
The district is also expanding its preschool education network, with 12 preschools and 45 child development groups already in operation. Construction of a new kindergarten building (Kindergarten No. 4) began during the governor's visit and will cater to up to 300 children.
During the visit, Ahmadzoda emphasized the importance of local entrepreneurs and residents in contributing to the development of educational facilities and other key infrastructure. He noted that these efforts are aligned with the nation's broader development goals.
