DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 8. The industrial output in the Sughd free economic zone (FEZ) of Tajikistan reached 203.69 million somoni (approximately $21.1 million) from January through May 2025, which is a 36.1 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistical Agency shows that a total of 17 industrial enterprises are currently located in the FEZ. Over this period, three entities provided paid services totaling 1.512 million somoni (around $157,069), while one entity completed construction and contracting work worth 188,300 somoni (approximately $19,560).
Located in the city of Khujand, the Sughd FEZ covers an area of 320 hectares. There are 42 registered entities operating within the zone, including 36 domestic companies and 6 joint ventures, such as partnerships between Tajikistan and Poland or Türkiye.
Products manufactured in the Sughd FEZ include solar helio-collectors, plastic pipes, electric wires, exterior wall paints and colorants, plastic door and window profiles, plastic bottles for fresh fruit storage, meat products, and more.
The total value of industrial output in Tajikistan, including contributions from private sector companies, reached 24.07 billion somoni ($2.4 billion) from January through May 2025, marking a 23.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
