ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 13. A total of 845 electronic transactions were conducted in Turkmenistan as of October 1, 2024, Trend reports.
Calculations from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan (CBT) showed that this figure represents a 1.8 percent increase compared to the previous month, when 830 transactions were recorded.
Notably, the majority of these transactions were processed through the "Halkbank" Joint-Stock Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan, with 499 operations, followed by "Rysgal" Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (125 transactions) and "Turkmenistan" State Commercial Bank with 114.
Additionally, the capital of Turkmenistan took lead in the number of digital operations, with 554 transactions, while the Lebap and Balkan regions recorded 71 and 65 transactions, respectively.
To note, the CBT is the country's main financial institution, responsible for issuing the national currency, regulating monetary policy, and overseeing foreign exchange operations. Founded in 1991, the bank actively participates in implementing the state financial strategy, managing the money supply, and ensuring the stability of the country's payment system.
