BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. The production of passenger cars by Iranian automaker Irankhodro decreased by 3 percent during seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through October 22, 2023), the report of Codal (codal.ir), a company operating under Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization (codal.ir) said, Trend reports.
According to the report, Irankhodro Automobile Manufacturing Company produced 289,977 units of passenger cars during the seven months. During the same period last year, the company produced 298,605 cars.
The company's car sales totaled 284,239 units for the seven months. This is 2 percent less than the same period last year. The company's car sales for the same period last year amounted to 287,275 units. A total of 5,738 vehicles produced by the company did not go on sale.
The company produced 102,944 units of Peugeot, 62,505 units of Soren, 49,548 units of Dena, 9,822 units of Runna, 39,077 units of Tara, 8,839 units of Haima, and 17,242 units of other cars during the mentioned period.
To note, Iran's three major automobile manufacturers (Irankhodro, Saipa, and Parskhodro) have produced a total of 510,672 passenger cars during seven months of the current Iranian year.
