BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. The Mexican national football team defeated South Africa 2-0 in the first match of the opening of the World Cup.
The match took place at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
Goals were scored by Julian Quiñones (9th minute) and Raúl Jiménez (67th minute).
South Africa finished the match with nine men. First, Yaya Sithole and then Themba Zwane were sent off. Mexico's Cesar Montes was also sent off.
