The UK and Germany will discuss contemporary geopolitics of the South Caucasus.
Director of the Center for Strategic Research (CSR) under the Azerbaijani President Elkhan Nuriyev will pay an official visit to the UK Apr. 19, the Center said.
Nuriyev will attend and address as the keynote speaker at a conference on the topic "Azerbaijan's Quest for Conflict Resolution and New Regional Order-Building" to be held in Analytical Science Center of the University College of London within a joint project between CSR and UK-Azeris Network.
Nuriyev is also expected to address at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) Apr.20, in which a roundtable on the topic "Azerbaijan's modern geopolitics".
Within the visit to Germany Nuriyev will attend a conference on the topic "New Geopolitics of the Southern Caucasus: A view from Azerbaijan" organized by SRC and the German Council on Foreign relations Apr.22. And Apr.23, Nuriyev is expected to participate in a roundtable on the topic "Azerbaijan's energy strategy and Europe's energy security" to be held at the Global Public Policy Institute in Germany.
The all above mentioned events are planned to be attended by British and German parliamentarians, authoritative political scientists, economists and representatives of diplomatic missions in these countries. Within the visit Nuriyev will meet with officials, as well as with the heads of "brain centers" of the two countries. Along with modern geopolitics of the South Caucasus, the role of Azerbaijan in the European energy security, issues of impact of unsettled conflicts on the global security, the meetings will discuss regionally important projects, relating to the cooperation of analytic institutions of these countries in the research sphere. View exchange on various issues of internal and external policy of Azerbaijan, including an analysis of current state and development prospects of the Azerbaijani-European, particularly British-Azerbaijani and Azerbaijani-German relations will be held during the meetings.
