BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 25. The net profit of Azerbaijani banks took a hit in January 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows that this figure amounted to 71 million manat ($41.8 million), down 28.6 million manat ($16.8 million) or 28.7 percent compared to the same month in 2024 (99.6 million manat or $58.5 million).
The banks' operating profit stood at 122.5 million manat ($72.2 million), meaning a decrease of 21.1 million manat ($12.4 million) or 14.7 percent from last January (43.6 million manat or $84.5 million).
Additionally, the total assets of active banks this January amounted to 53 billion manat ($31.2 billion), total liabilities were 46.4 billion manat ($27.3 billion), and the balance capital was 6.7 billion manat ($3.9 billion).
