Kazakhstan and South Korea discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation in several priority sectors within Kazakh delegation’s visit to Seoul, the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh delegation, headed by the Vice-Minister for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Arystan Kabikenov, held several meetings with the representatives of the largest South Korean companies regarding boosting of economic cooperation.
"The parties exchanged experience in the management and legislative regulation of special economic zones (SEZ), and discussed the opportunities of the Kazakh "East Cost" SEZ, operating in the mining and metallurgical, logistics, green economy and other promising areas for Kazakhstan," the message said.
The sides launched a joint "investment week," during which entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan met with the representatives of the Korean TNK Noroo Kiban, Highvill and POSCO ICT companies.
“The Korean Highvill company, in turn, announced its plans to invest in a number of construction projects in the regions of Kazakhstan. The Noroo Kiban company expressed intention to invest in projects of the agricultural sector, chemical industry of Kazakhstan, using the latest information and communication technologies,” according to the press service.
The Kazakh delegation, visiting Seoul included Mezharzhan Myrzaliyev, deputy head of the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, Azamat Oynarov, head of the Kazakh Center for Public-Private Partnerships JSC, Rustam Isatayev, deputy chairman of the Kazakh Invest JSC, as well as representatives of Kazakhstan’s National Welfare Fund "Samruk Kazyna" , NC "Kazakhstan railways - Express", "KazAgro" JSC and other companies.
