TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 23. Uzbekistan exported textile products worth $2.86 billion in 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that this figure has decreased by 15 percent year-on-year ($3.05 billion in 2023).
The exported textile products accounted for 10.6 percent of the total volume of exports in the country.
Yarn accounted for 43.2 percent of textile exports, while ready-made textile items made up 39.2 percent. Uzbekistan exported yarn worth $1.23 billion during this period, while exports of ready-made textile products reached $1.12 billion.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan plans to increase the textile exports to $4 billion by the end of 2025. The recent developments in the global market have impacted the competitiveness of Uzbek products, particularly with a drop in export prices. Yarn prices have fallen by 9 percent, fabrics by 15 percent, and finished goods by 13 percent. Additionally, the demand for finished textile products has decreased in key markets, which has created further challenges for producers.
