Iran’s car industry registered a production growth by 17.5 percent in the last calendar month (March 20-April 20), according to Iran’s industry ministry's data.
Iranian auto manufacturers produced over 80,140 cars during the one-month period.
Iran manufactured 76,239 passenger cars in the same span of time, 18 percent more year-on-year.
Iranian car makers produced 3,090 pick-ups in the period, registering a rise by 6.3 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.
However the country’s minibus and bus output witnessed fall by 4.3 and 22.5 percent, respectively, year-on-year.
Iranian auto makers manufactured 45 minibuses and 55 buses in the first calendar month of the current fiscal year.
Iran’s van output registered a huge rise by 311.1 percent to 74 vehicles in the period.
Iran’s truck output also increased by 23.7 percent and stood at 637 units in the calendar month.
Iran’s car industry registered a production growth by 13.7 percent in the last fiscal year, ended March 20, 2018 and witnessed production of 1.535 million cars.
Iran manufactured 1.44 million passenger cars in the 12-month period, 14.8 percent more year-on-year.
Over 1.350 million cars were produced in Iran in the Iranian fiscal year to March 20, 2017.
Iran’s car output reached 982,337 units in 2015, according to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA). The figure indicated a 9.9-percent fall compared to the preceding year.
