Nearly 80 Finnish companies are currently active in Iran, the European country’s minister of labor said.

“Finland alongside the EU has remained committed to the JCPOA, and we also invite Iran to remain in the deal,” Jari Tapani Lindstrom said in a recent meeting with Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei in Geneva, IRNA news agency reported on June 5.

“We are two different countries with similar problems,” he added.

"Approximately, there are 70 to 80 Finnish firms active in Iran," Lindstrom said, calling for enhanced ties between the two ministries following Washington’s withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on May 8.

Iran and Finland traded more than €106 million worth of goods during the 11 months to Nov. 30, 2017, to register a 60 percent hike in bilateral exchanges compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to Iranian media.
