Tremors shook parts of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan in the early hours of Monday, Dec.29, 2008.
Noor Padshah, head of civil defense in the area, says the quake registered 5.8 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter of the quake was Faizabad city of Badakhshan.
According to Padshah, the tremors were felt in Fizabad and Kabul in Afghanistan, Korogh in Tajikistan and Chatral in Pakistan.
Badakhshan governor said the earthquake in Faizabad city-the center of this earthquake-did not have any casualties. (pajwack)
