BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. Azerbaijan Railways CJSC has set its sights on a lofty ambition: to play a pivotal role in turning Azerbaijan into a bustling international transport hub. By harnessing the East-West and North-South international transport corridors that weave through the nation, the goal is to ramp up annual transit cargo volumes by two to four times by the year 2030, Trend reports via the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.
"A long-term strategy is being implemented, which will serve to transform Azerbaijan into a transport hub.
All activities are in line with the long-term strategy outlined in the document 'Strategic Directions for the Development of Azerbaijan Railways Until 2030,' approved by the Azerbaijan Railways Supervisory Board in 2024, and are aimed at achieving the set goals.
In its operations, Azerbaijan Railways focuses on the priority transportation of strategically important cargo, effective interaction with clients, the implementation of dynamic tariffs and discount mechanisms, as well as digitalization and optimization of processes. Important areas also include expanding activities across the entire supply chain, offering new services, entering new markets, and implementing strategic initiatives to create platforms for cooperation with international partners—associations, consortiums, and joint ventures," the CJSC’s statement reads.
