ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 23. At the terminal of Kedentransservice in Kazakhstan’s Astana, the first transit container train using open-top railcars, following the Russia-Kazakhstan-China route, was transshipped, Trend reports via Kazakhstan Railways.
The new service was launched in cooperation with Russia’s largest logistics company, "Logoper."
"The implemented technology provides for the backloading of containers into open-top railcars that previously arrived with Kazakh coal. This approach significantly optimizes logistics processes and increases the efficiency of railway infrastructure and rolling stock usage," the statement reads.
Kedentransservice is successfully implementing projects aimed at developing transit container transportation between Russia, Kazakhstan, and China. One such project is the launch of a container train on the Darbaza – Dostyk (express)–Tianjin route. In January 2022, the first train, consisting of fifty 40-foot containers loaded with cotton fiber, was transshipped at the Dostyk (express) station and sent to China. The journey took nine days.
