ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 8. At a government meeting, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, spoke about the next stage of digitalizing the agricultural sector—the introduction of Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) technologies, Trend reports.
According to the information, modern solutions include automated feeding, water supply, microclimate control, and the use of AI to predict diseases and reproductive behavior. Additionally, drones and satellite monitoring of pastures are being used. These technologies can increase productivity by 10–25 percent and reduce costs by up to 15 percent.
Moreover, according to forecasts by The Business Research Company, the global market for Precision Livestock Farming is expected to reach $7.93 billion by 2029, with an average annual growth rate of 9.1 percent. In OECD countries, this model is actively supported as a tool for reducing carbon footprints and enhancing biosecurity.
Kazakhstan views the implementation of these solutions as a key element of the sector’s sustainable development.
