BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. Within the framework of the meeting of IT companies and providers from CIS, Eurasia, and Eastern Europe in Bodrum at the event "Capacity Eurasia," SOCAR Fiber and European company Exa Infrastructure signed an agreement on a strategic partnership, Trend reports via Exa Infrastructure.

"We have agreed with SOCAR Fiber to engage in the development of a new terrestrial fiber-optic route with a length of 1,850 km between Türkiye, Greece, and Georgia. In the future, the digital cable may be extended towards Türkiye's border with Iraq to provide connectivity to the Persian Gulf region," the company notes.

The selection of SOCAR Fiber as a partner is explained by the fact that the company has successfully laid the cable along the TANAP gas pipeline across Türkiye and also provided seamless integration with Exa's Trans Adriatic Express network used by the TAP (European part of the Southern Gas Corridor) gas pipeline in Italy.
