ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 27. The National Barcode Organization of Turkmenistan has started the process of registering companies and goods in the global catalog of manufacturers and retailers under the name Global Registry, Trend reports.
This activity is connected with a new global initiative of global retailers and leading manufacturers of global brands that use the standards of the GS1 international organization.
The Global Registry concept envisages international product catalog that ensures transparency of the supply chain from the manufacturer to the consumer and fights counterfeit products.
The improved unified product information base will help eliminate the cost of multiple product data entry, eliminate errors and ensure uniformity of product information throughout the supply chain, as well as automatically monitor and provide consumers with information about documents confirming the quality and safety of goods.
In order to work in this direction, Turkmenistan's companies and commodity producers need to provide the organization with photos of the products produced according to a certain sample.
Meanwhile, the National Organization of Turkmenistan for Barcodes was established on March 27, 2014. The organization received the status of a full member of the GS1 international organization with headquarters in Brussels in May 2015, which includes 119 national organizations from around the world and received the right to use the GS1 Turkmenistan brand.
