Goods worth 1,532 billion soums ($145 million) were sold on all trading platforms of the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX) for the period from Jan. 25 to 31, which is 14.1 percent more than in the previous week, Trend reports referring to UZEX.
Some 92.4 percent of sales fell on exchange trading, 2.5 percent - on exhibition and fair auctions, 4.8 percent - on government purchases and 0.3 percent - on online auctions for license plates.
It is reported that the total volume of transactions involving small businesses and private entrepreneurship amounted to 599 billion soums ($57 million). As a result of the electronic bidding for public procurement, the total savings of budgetary and corporate customers amounted to 17.6 billion soums ($1.7 million).
Also, commodity resources worth 1,415 billion soums ($134 million) were sold at open exchange auctions during the reporting period.
In addition, 5,620 tons of cottonseed oil were put up for sale last week, of which 1,802.0 tons, or 32.1 percent, were sold. On average, 55 buyers took part in the exchange trades daily.
It is noted that the daily average price for all varieties of cottonseed oil during the period under review increased from 12,646 soums ($1.2) to 12,822 soums ($1.22) per ton, or by 1.4 percent. At the end of the week, the weekly quotation of the first grade of cottonseed oil amounted to 12,942 soums ($1.23) per ton.
Moreover, there was a slight decrease in prices on the sugar exchange market. During the past week, 6,753 tons of sugar were put up for sale, of which 5,539 tons, or 82 percent, were sold.
Thus, the daily average price for sugar of all categories fell from 6,833 soums ($0.6483) to 6,795 soums ($0.6447) per ton. According to the results of exchange trading, the weekly weighted average price for local sugar of the third category amounted to 6,780 soums ($0.6432) per ton.
Furthermore, 149,179 tons of cement were put up for sale last week, of which 144,868 tons, or 97.1 percent, were sold. The daily volume of cement sales averaged 29,000 tons.
It was noted that the daily average price for cement of all grades during the period under review fell from 644,400 soums ($61.24) to 638,500 soums ($60.68) per ton.
