BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 12. The electricity production of Iran's Bampur Thermal Power Plant in Sistan and Baluchestan Province in the southeastern part of the country increased by 14 percent during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023), executive director of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Power Plant Generation Management Company Muradbakhsh Bameri told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, the Bampur thermal power plant produced 1.11 billion kilowatts of electricity during six months.
Bameri added that the mentioned amount of electricity was transferred to Iran's power grid.
The official stated that Bampur TPP plays a fundamental role in the power supply of Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
To note, a total of four thermal power plants operate in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province. One of them is Bampur Thermal Power Plant. Bampur Thermal Power Plant was fully commissioned in 2014. Two gas-fired units of 162 megawatts each are operating in this plant.
