Gold production at Iran's Hird plant soars

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. Gold production at the Hird Gold Bar Production Plant in South Khorasan province, located in northeastern Iran, increased by 70 percent during the seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year, the head of Iran's South Khorasan Mining Complex Saeed Sistanizadeh told local media, Trend reports.

According to him, 157 kilograms of gold bars were produced at the Hird gold bar production plant over seven months. At the same time, the plant produced 82 kilograms of gold bars during the same period last year.

Sistanizadeh added that the gold reserves at the Hird gold mine were five million tons. Exploration operations were carried out with investments in the mine, which increased the gold reserves to ten million tons.

The official stated that zinc production at the Malvand mine of the South Khorasan Mining Complex for seven months increased to 10,300 tons. Compared to the same period last year, zinc production increased by 61 percent. During the same period last year, zinc production was 6,400 tons.

The annual gold bar production potential of the Hird Gold Bar Production Plant in South Khorasan province is 200 kilograms.

To note, the South Khorasan mining complex operates under the management of Iran Mineral Materials Procurement and Production Company (IMPASCO).
