BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 10. Gold production at the Hird Gold Bar Production Plant in South Khorasan province, located in northeastern Iran, increased by 58 percent during the ten months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through January 19, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through January 20, 2024), the head of Iran's South Khorasan Mining Complex Alireza Jalalian told local media, Trend reports.
Jalalian stated that during this period, the Hird gold bar production plant produced 239 kilograms of gold bars in the ten months period.
He also added that over the past ten years, 100,000 meters of excavation work has been carried out at the Hird gold mine, with some of the digging reaching a depth of 1,000 meters.
Furthermore, Jalalian mentioned that during the first ten months, the mine yielded 1,140 tons of mineral, reflecting a 32 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The annual gold bar production potential of the Hird Gold Bar Production Plant in South Khorasan province is 200 kilograms. The Hird gold deposit is reported to contain reserves of 10 million tons of gold.
To note, the South Khorasan mining complex operates under the management of Iran Mineral Materials Procurement and Production Company (IMPASCO).
