BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. Iran's product imports from Kyrgyzstan decreased by 32 percent by value and 57 percent by weight in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.
According to the statistics, during 11 months imports of products from Kyrgyzstan amounted to 5,670 tons worth about $2.97 million.
The statistics note that during the same period last year, Iran's product import from Kyrgyzstan amounted to 8,360 tons worth $6.94 million.
The information shows that Iran mainly imported agricultural products and phosphoric acid from Kyrgyzstan.
Meanwhile, the statistics note that Iran imported 156 tons of products from Kyrgyzstan for the 12th month of the last Iranian year (from February 20 through March 19, 2024) worth $90,700.
However, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, imports of products to Iran in the last Iranian year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion.
The import of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
To note, Iran mainly focuses on the import of products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on the import of products manufactured in the country.
