From January through September 2019, Turkey's exports to other D-8 countries (Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan) increased by 6.8 percent compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to over $5.6 billion, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Trade Ministry.
According to the ministry, during the reported period, Turkish imports from the D-8 countries in the first nine months of 2019 decreased by 32.2 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, having amounted to over $7.4 billion.
In September 2019, Turkish exports to other D-8 countries grew by 4.5 percent, compared to September 2018, and amounted to $655.4 million.
According to the ministry, in September 2019, Turkish imports from the D-8 countries decreased by 46.9 percent, compared to the same month of 2018, and amounted to over $545.9 million.
Turkey’s foreign trade in September 2019 amounted to $32.1 billion.
In September 2019, Turkish exports grew by 0.08 percent compared to September 2018, and amounted to $15.2 billion.
In September 2019, imports to Turkey increased by 0.15 percent compared to the corresponding month of 2018 and reached $16.9 billion.
From January through September, Turkey’s foreign trade amounted to $286.4 billion.
The D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, also known as Developing-8, was founded in 1996 and is an organization for development cooperation among Bangladesh, Egypt, Nigeria, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey.
