ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 5. Kazakhstan intends to expand economic and trade cooperation with France, said President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, following discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trend reports.
"Last year, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and France reached $4.2 billion," President Tokayev noted during a joint press briefing. "This year, we have already matched this figure within the first nine months, a testament to the robust growth of our economic relations."
France stands as Kazakhstan's sixth-largest investor, with major French corporations such as Alstom, Total Energies, Air Liquide, Orano, Vicat, Danone, and Lactalis collectively investing approximately $19.5 billion in Kazakhstan to date.
These investments span a range of key sectors, including oil and gas, mining, construction, aviation, machinery, and healthcare. "Our cooperation continues to deepen in these strategic industries, creating more opportunities for both Kazakh and French stakeholders," President Tokayev emphasized.
