Iran has ranked 107 among 130 countries in the International Property Rights Index (IPRI) for 2012.
The IPRI is international comparative study by US-based Property Rights Alliance that measures the significance of both physical and intellectual property rights and their protection for economic well-being.
The Index focuses on three areas: Legal and Political Environment (LP), Physical Property Rights (PPR), and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
Iran ranks 105 (Political Environment), 101 (Physical Property Rights) and 107 (Intellectual Property Rights) respectively for the areas by 3.5, 5.5 and 3.8 scores.
Iran's overall IPRI score has stood on 4.3 from 10 in the report.
Comparing 2011, Iran's rank has improved slightly and increased by 2 steps from 109 to 107.
Finland topped the index with overall score of 8.6, followed by Sweden and Oman. Yemen has stood at the bottom of the list with overall score of 2.8.
