ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 9. On a working jaunt to the Mangystau region, the Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas (KMG), Askhat Khassenov, swung by the "Kendirli" seawater desalination plant, which boasts a design capacity of 50,000 cubic meters of water each day, Trend reports via KazMunayGas.
The data indicates that the construction operations at the
facility reached completion on May 30. The facility encompasses a
suite of operational units including desalination and
demineralization workshops, alongside water mineralization
processes; a pump station; dual substations; a repair-mechanical
workshop, a garage, and multiple warehouses; a laboratory, a fire
station, and a boiler house, complemented by a robust engineering
and communication framework featuring an 80.1 km power transmission
line, a dual-pipeline main water conduit extending 201.4 km, a 48.1
km gas pipeline, and a 40.1 km access thoroughfare.
Furthermore, in relation to the aquatic segment of the initiative,
polyethylene conduits have been installed within excavated channels
on the ocean floor. The establishment leverages cutting-edge
innovations sourced from premier international producers.
Initiation and operationalization processes are currently in
progress at the facility.
On July 9, the comprehensive technological apparatus cycle was
initiated, during which the production line for seawater
desalination will undergo rigorous testing and flushing protocols.
The duration of this operational procedure is quantified at 72
hours. Following the successful execution of the assessment
protocols, the facility will transition to its operational phase,"
the organization articulated in its communiqué.
At present, the hydric resources are being disseminated to the
urban locality of Zhanaozen by the entities LLP "Main Water
Pipeline" and LLP "Water Production and Transportation Department."
In light of the established hydrological metrics for Zhanaozen
derived from current resources, alongside the temporal variables
influencing community water utilization, the "Kendirli"
desalination facility will commence operations in a remedial
capacity, signifying that the plant will address the deficit in
water volumes.
Subsequent to the completion of requisite analytical evaluations
and laboratory assessments, the processed desalinated seawater will
be conveyed via a 100.7 km pipeline to the state-operated utility
entity "Ozeninvest" for subsequent distribution to the urban
locality of Zhanaozen.
The initiative possesses pivotal significance: with the
operationalization of the new facility, the populace of Zhanaozen
and adjacent locales will gain access to potable water resources.
The facility is poised to alleviate the hydraulic stress on the
"Astrakhan - Mangyshlak" primary aqueduct and catalyze the
industrial advancement of the region.
This significant socio-economic initiative spearheaded by
KazMunayGas is projected to generate 91 employment opportunities.
Throughout the construction phase, a workforce of up to 650
personnel was engaged in the operational execution.
