Some 1.53 million tons of products were exported from Iran's Markazi Province last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), Esmaeil Hosseini, Head of Customs Office of Markazi Province, told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to Hosseini, the products were worth $1.13 in value.
Hosseini added that these products were exported to 84 countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Bulgaria.
The export of products increased by 6 percent in terms of weight and by 3 percent in terms of value.
Hosseini went on to say that various hydrocarbons, light and heavy polyethylene, polypropylene, and fruit juice are among the main products exported through the provincial customs.
Hosseini added that 164,000 tons of products worth $401 million were imported to Markazi last year, with the import of products increasing by 21 percent in terms of weight and 9 percent in terms of value, compared with the previous year.
"Food packaging, concentrates, aluminum boxes, bottle caps and raw materials for weaving are the main products imported," he said.
Hosseini said that products were imported to the province from 59 countries, mainly from China, Turkey, Germany, Italy, India, the UAE, Greece, Switzerland and Spain.
With a population of 1.41 million, Iran’s Markazi Province is considered to be one of Iran’s most important industrial and agricultural centers.
