By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:
Demand for the Kazakh wheat is expected to increase in the Central Asian countries, an analyst in grain and oilseeds market, Director of Kazakhstan's Grains and Oilseeds research bureau Viktor Aslanov told Trend.
“It is expected that the volume of wheat production in Kazakhstan this year will grow by 15-20 percent compared to last year. Accordingly, the demand for grain from abroad will increase,” Aslanov said.
The expert noted that the grain will be mainly Russian.
“A very high demand from importers of Kazakh grain is expected. This is, first of all, Central Asia, where this year was the most severe drought. These are five countries, including Afghanistan,” Aslanov noted.
