BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. The SOCAR Carbamide plant turned five years old on January 16 and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has reported on its achievements during this period, Trend reports, referring to the statement of SOCAR.
The company has produced 1.6 million tons of nitrogen fertilizers (urea) over the past five years, of which 1.2 million tons were exported.
"In 2023, urea production at the enterprise amounted to 454,000 tons, of which 78.3 percent of production was exported, the rest went to cover Azerbaijan's internal needs," SOCAR reported.
The report indicates that the daily capacity of the plant is 2,000 tons of urea and 1,200 tons of ammonia.
The enterprise's products are being sold to farmers at competitive prices in Azerbaijan.
Among foreign buyers are Türkiye, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Italy, Georgia, and South American countries.
