BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 17. Azerbaijan's gross natural gas production has risen substantially over the past decade, increasing from 29.60 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2014 to 48.30 bcm in 2023, Trend reports, citing data from the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
Marketed natural gas production also saw a remarkable surge, growing from 18.64 bcm in 2014 to 36.70 bcm in 2023.

According to the GECF, Azerbaijan’s 36.7 bcm of marketed production in 2023 solidifies its position as a leading natural gas producer in the region.
The report highlights that 15.3 bcm of natural gas was consumed domestically in 2023, reflecting the country’s significant internal energy demand. Additionally, 23.9 bcm was exported via pipelines, showcasing Azerbaijan's critical role as a strategic natural gas exporter.
Per capita natural gas consumption in Azerbaijan reached 1,512 standard cubic meters (Scm) in 2023, underscoring the nation’s robust energy utilization.
