Kazakhstan reveals volume of money transfers with Azerbaijan in February

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 4. Over 1,300 money transfers from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan through international money transfer systems (IMTS) were made in February 2024, Trend reports.

The data from the Central Bank of Kazakhstan shows that the total volume of the above transactions amounted to 840.5 million tenge (about $1.89 million).

Thus, Azerbaijan's share in the number of transactions and the volume of remittances from Kazakhstan in February amounted to 0.7 and 1.4 percent, respectively.

In addition, about 560 money transfer transactions from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan through IMTS were made for a total amount of 510 million tenge (about $1.15 million). Here, Azerbaijan’s share in the number of transactions and the volume of transfers amounted to 0.8 and 2.7 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, the volume of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 187,600 transactions worth 60.3 billion tenge (about $134.9 million) in February 2024.

Compared to January 2024, there is an increase in the number of transfers by 15.3 percent and in the volume of transactions by 11.6 percent.
