BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 7. Kyrgyzstan imported 86.411 million liters of automotive gasoline from January through February 2024, which is 51.7 percent more than in the corresponding months of 2023 (56.969 million liters), Trend reports.
According to Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee, the value of these imports reached $34.835 million, which is an increase of 80.5 percent over the January - February 2023 figures ($19.303 million). During the reporting period, Russia was the sole country from which Kyrgyzstan imported gasoline.
Last year, over the same two-month period, Kyrgyzstan imported 51.980 million liters of gasoline from Russia, 3.796 million liters from Kazakhstan, and 1.192 million liters from Armenia.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover totaled $2.255 billion in the first two months of 2024, which is 28.3 percent more than in the same period in 2023 ($1.758 billion). Exports reached $307.5 million, increasing by 18.4 percent compared to January–February 2023 ($259.726 million). Imports amounted to $1.947 billion, up 30 percent from $1.498 billion in the corresponding months of 2023.
