BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 10. The imports of gasoline from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan have drastically declined, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee shows that Kyrgyzstan imported just 1.371 million liters of gasoline from Kazakhstan from January through May 2024, a decrease of 17 times compared to 24.407 million liters in the corresponding months of 2023.
The value of these imports plummeted by 19 times, falling from $9.020 million to $463,762 over the first five months of this year.
In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 271.926 million liters of gasoline from January through May 2024, which is a 40.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023 (193.621 million liters).
The total value of these imports amounted to $127.875 million, which is 54.4 percent more than $82.842 million in the corresponding months of 2023.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan foreign trade turnover reached $6.488 billion in the first five months of 2024, which is an 18.6 percent increase compared to January–May 2023.
Exports totaled $1.046 billion, a 4.8 percent rise from January through May 2023. Imports increased by 21.7 percent year-on-year, reaching $5.442 billion.
