BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 6. Rehabilitation of Toktogul HPP in Kyrgyzstan is close to completion, Trend reports
According to Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Energy, half a year has flown by since Electric Power Plants OJSC started working on the reconstruction of the Toktogul HPP. During this time, the lion's share of the key works of the modernization project have been wrapped up.
In particular, the dismantling of the main and auxiliary equipment of hydro unit No. 1 has been completed, the generator stator has been fully assembled and successfully tested, the rotor of hydro unit No. 1 has been successfully assembled and installed, and the main installation works in the turbine section have been completed.
The reconstruction and rehabilitation of the water line and hydromechanical equipment of hydro unit No. 1 began at the Toktogul HPP on March 5, 2024.
The Ministry noted that following the successful launch of hydraulic unit No. 1, the lifetime of the Toktogul HPP will increase by 25–30 years, which will ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply in the fall and winter periods, as well as increase the capacity of the plant by an additional 60 megawatts.
