BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 9. Air transport in Kyrgyzstan carried a total of 28,300 tons of cargo, an increase of 16,800 tons, or 2.4 times, compared to the same period last year when it amounted to 11,500 tons.
Data obtained by Trend from the country’s Statistical Committee shows that the total freight turnover by air reached 106.6 million ton-kilometers, which is 29.2 percent lower than in the same period of 2024.
The volume of cargo moved by all modes of transport in Kyrgyzstan came in at 31.595 million tons from January through July 2025, marking an uptick of 3.3 million tons, or 11.6 percent, when stacked up against the same period in 2024.
In July alone, the volume of cargo transport experienced an uptick of 0.3 million tons, translating to a year-on-year growth rate of 7.2 percent, alongside a sequential increase of 8.9 percent relative to the preceding month of June 2025.
